Reporting

Hiring an SEO agency can be daunting, especially for first-timers. You might not know what to expect when it comes to the SEO services that an agency provides and that’s why we work with our clients to ensure they know exactly what they are getting, every step of the way.

Once we have conducted our initial SEO audits, we then commence our monthly retainer with our clients. This is where we get to action the recommendations from our audits and provide ongoing support to ensure you are maximising your organic opportunities, improving your keyword rankings, driving more traffic, and ultimately, driving more sales and revenue.

SEO Strategy

The first thing we do when we start working with a new client on an ongoing basis is to create an SEO strategy. This is a bespoke strategy based on the results of our audits, the number of hours we are contracted to, and the goals of the business.

We always align the goals of our SEO strategy with those of the business. This ensures that the work we are doing is contributing to the growth of the business, helping to achieve the overarching business objectives.

An SEO strategy document will contain a wide range of tactics designed to help us to achieve the goals identified and these form the basis for our ongoing SEO work.

Content writing and optimisation

The needs of each client will differ, however, one of the main tactics we work on for a lot of our clients is content writing and optimisation. Whether it is optimising existing content on the site for the keywords identified in our keyword research or creating new content to target new keywords, content is an essential component of our ongoing SEO work.

Where relevant, we will also put in place a content strategy, designed to target specific keywords or topics. This will mainly involve the creation of an optimised blog or news content but also includes other content marketing pieces such as infographics, original research, video, and graphical content.

Technical updates

Another key element of our ongoing SEO services is technical auditing. Whilst the initial in-depth technical audit helps us to identify any major issues on a website, ongoing technical changes are essential, especially in an ever-changing environment.

Depending on the needs of the client and the priorities, we can audit sites as often as monthly but typically we will carry out a deeper technical dive on a quarterly basis. In these audits, we are checking for things like broken links, page speed issues, core web vital issues, duplicate content, and server errors. Where possible, we will make the technical changes ourselves or work with a developer to push those changes through.

Link outreach and prospecting

Where appropriate and where budget allows, we also include in our monthly retainer the option to carry out link outreach and prospecting. This is an essential SEO strategy for most businesses, particularly those with relatively new websites that have not yet built up strong domain authority.

Attracting links from relevant, authoritative websites is a great way to improve your own authority, helping you to rank better for the keywords you are targeting as well as helping to drive more traffic to your website. Link outreach is not always appropriate for every client. Links can be hard to attract in smaller niches, however, there are other opportunities including directory listings that can help if these have not already been identified and actioned.

Local SEO

Local SEO has boomed over the past five years and is an essential part of any successful SEO strategy. Local SEO refers to the optimisation of a website’s content and structure to improve its visibility and ranking for local search queries. It is essential for businesses that serve customers in specific geographic locations. Local SEO includes strategies such as optimising Google Business Profile listings, creating local landing pages, generating online reviews, and building local citations.

These tactics can help businesses to increase visibility in local search results as well as help businesses build trust and credibility with their local audience, leading to increased brand recognition and loyalty.

Conversion optimisation

Whilst optimising a website for conversions is not our core business, it has become an integral part of a lot of our SEO activity due to the impact it can have on sales and revenue.

Conversion optimisation, also known as conversion rate optimisation (CRO), is the process of improving a website’s performance by increasing the percentage of visitors who take a desired action, such as making a purchase, filling out a form, or subscribing to a newsletter.

We analyse website data and behaviour to identify potential barriers to conversion before implementing changes to the site to improve its effectiveness. Changes can include design elements, changing calls to action (CTAs), and streamlining the customer journey.

User experience testing

Closely linked to conversion rate optimisation is the task of testing a website’s user experience. Whilst our primary goal is to improve keyword rankings and drive more traffic to a website, we also want those customers to do more of the things we want them to do when they land on the site. Whether that’s reading a blog, watching a video, or making a purchase, the user experience needs to lead them to that goal.

We use specific tools to analyse how people engage with different content on the website, looking at heat map testing and reviewing video recordings showing how users interact with content on a website. This then helps us to make recommendations about the changes needed to improve that user experience.

Reporting

Whilst it’s not the most glamorous thing we do, reporting is an essential part of our ongoing SEO work. As well as keeping clients fully up-to-date with how their website is performing, it also allows us to take a monthly snapshot of the overall health of the website and quickly analyse any anomalies in the data.

Our monthly reporting is bespoke for each client and we provide as much or as little information as a client needs. A typical monthly report will include data such as traffic and conversions, keyword rankings, top performing pages, device and location data, and competitor analysis.

In addition, we provide clients with regular updates to our SEO strategy documents, tracking progress towards the targets identified.

What does an SEO agency actually do?

An SEO agency like Digital Hothouse provides services to improve a website’s search engine visibility and ranking. We use various strategies such as keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and content creation to increase a website’s organic traffic.

SEO agencies also analyse website data and user behaviour to identify opportunities for optimisation and growth. We also offer technical SEO services to ensure the website is structured correctly for search engines.

Additionally, we provide ongoing monitoring and reporting on the website’s performance, as well as recommendations for continuous improvement. Ultimately, the goal of an SEO agency is to help businesses attract more qualified traffic and increase conversions through improved search engine visibility.

Does my company require SEO services?

If your company has a website and an online presence, then it likely requires SEO services. Search engine optimisation is essential for improving a website’s visibility and ranking on search engine results pages, which can lead to increased organic traffic, higher quality leads, and more conversions.

Without effective SEO, a website may struggle to compete with competitors and may not be easily found by potential customers. Regardless of the size or type of business, SEO is a critical component of digital marketing that can help businesses improve their online presence and achieve their goals.

How much do SEO services cost?

The cost of delivering SEO services will depend on a huge range of factors. At Digital Hothouse, we offer bespoke SEO services based on the needs and requirements of our clients. From small independent businesses to large multinationals, we tailor our SEO services to the requirements and budgets of our clients.

Everything starts with a meeting. In order to provide an accurate quote for our services, we first like to talk to you about your business, your industry, and your customers. Once we have the full picture, we can then tailor our offering to you and ensure we are maximising your potential ROI from SEO.
